In the local government meeting of the 4^th of May it was unanimously agreed that Cadiz Town Council would support Sail Training Internationals nomination for the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize.

The Municipal Race Committee for the 50^th Anniversary Tall Ships Race informed the volunteers about the general organisation of the event and on the dates of the various courses that are being arranged for their training.

The creation of the Municipal 50^th Anniversary Tall Ships Race Committee was approved in the Local Government meeting on the 25^th of February 2005.

On Tuesday the 7^th of February Cadiz was the venue for a technical meeting for all the ports involved in the 50^th anniversary Tall Ships Races. The meeting was attended by delegates from Saint Malo (France), Lisbon (Portugal), Antwerp (Belgium) and La Coru?a. The meeting was used to discuss organisational issues common to all ports.

ON THE 4^TH OF NOVEMBER 2005 THE CADIZ TOWN COUNCIL ASSEMBLY APPROVED THE CREATION OF THE ORGANIZING COMMITTEE OF THE 50^TH ANNIVERSARY TALL SHIPS RACE.

In its meeting of the 2^nd of January 2004 the Cadiz Town Council Assembly approved the signing of the contract with the Sail Training International for the celebration of the " Golden Jubilee Tall Ships Race 2006 that will be held in Cadiz from the 26^th to the 29^th of July.
